Compensation: $15/hour, anticipated 20-25 hours/week, flexible and dependent on availability

Location: Fully Remote, Note: Team works 10am-6pm EDT/EST

Reports To: Social Media Associate/Strategist

Term: Seasonal role – Fall 2022 or Summer & Fall 2022 (see below)

TERM

Summer & Fall 2022 – Dates are flexible, within reason, and the emphasis will be on Fall 2022, with a focus on September and October 2022 in the lead-up to Election Day in early November. Candidates who are available for both the Summer and Fall periods will be prioritized, since understandably continuity of experience and understanding will be helpful in this role, but we are open to ideal candidates who are only available for the Fall.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

We’re seeking a current college student or recent graduate to serve as a Social Media Fundraising Fellow to join our groundbreaking social media fundraising team. This is not a traditional social media content position! The Social Media Fundraising Fellow will help support our Democratic clients to optimize organic fundraising via social media channels, with a focus on Twitter. With oversight from our Associate/Strategist, the person in this role will specifically be helping develop and further our celebrity and influencer engagement program – identifying, contacting, and managing our relationships with caring, involved, high-profile influencers who want to use their platform to help get Democrats elected in this critical year!

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Draft high-performing and engaging fundraising content for organic social media channels
  • Participate in social media planning for clients
  • Work within our proprietary direct message software on behalf of our clients
  • Work within an innovative and exclusive influencer outreach software platform (more info will be shared with finalist candidates)
  • Assist, as a primary contributor, with the expansion of our key celebrity and social media influencer engagement program
  • Identify, contact, and maintain relationships with key influencers who are interested in using their platform to advance liberal causes and help get democrats elected in 2022
  • Gain a foundation in the construction of ActBlue pages, branding, & social shares
  • Gain a foundation in the creation of ActBlue fundraising links for all social fundraising posts
  • Assist with monitoring A/B ActBlue test results to drive social fundraising
  • Support Social Media Associate/Strategist and Founding Partners as an integral member of our social media team

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidates with experience as a volunteer or part-time team member on a political campaign, at a political organization, will be highly regarded
  • Experience managing professional, campaign, or high-profile social media account(s), specifically Twitter, as either the primary decision-maker or as a key contributor preferred, but not required
  • Demonstrated passion for, and knowledge of, the social media landscape
  • Understanding of the Democratic political landscape
  • Passion for staying aware of the daily developments in crucial campaigns and elections nationwide
  • Experience with ActBlue and A/B testing preferred, but not required
  • Experience with Tweetdeck or Tweepsmap (or similar Twitter analytics and marketing applications/platforms) preferred, but not required
  • Campaign fundraising experience of any sort preferred, but not required
  • Confident demeanor – not being afraid to propose out of the box ideas, or write bold & emotional social media content
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting our mission of helping get Democrats elected at every level of government

WRITING SUBMISSIONS ON APPLICATION:

  1. Writing Prompt 1: Your client, Charlie Crist, is running for Governor of Florida against Ron DeSantis. A new poll was just released that shows Charlie just two points behind Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis. Compose a tweet to be sent from Charlie Crist’s personal handle about the new poll news that will drive engagement and fundraising.
  2. Writing Prompt 2: The Crist For Governor team is really eager to grow their follower count on Twitter by several thousand followers in the next week. Compose a tweet highlighting the state of the race and asking followers to retweet.
